Description

StarMed® ROSE Pink Nitrile Exam Gloves with Aloe & Vitamin E add a burst of striking pink color to any environment.  They are perfect for the exam room or ER, and are a favorite among dental hygienists, nurses, and tattoo artists.  An aloe and vitamin E coating soothes hands and helps prevent skin irritation, while StarMed® ROSE’s formulation provides enhanced protection, comfort, and tactile sensitivity.

These gloves are formulated for reduced tackiness, which makes them easy to put on and take off.   The beaded cuff provides added drip protection, while being powder free eliminates aerosolization of glove powder.   Nitrile gloves provide an impermeable barrier to dangerous viruses and other pathogens, as well as protection from chemotherapy drugs.  They also protect hands from petroleum and solvents.  They are also 3 times more puncture resistant than latex gloves.  This is especially important in medical, dental, and laboratory settings.

StarMed® ROSE Pink Nitrile Exam Gloves with Aloe & Vitamin E are packaged with the new Smart Dispense Single Glove Delivery™ method.  This reduces wrinkles and allows for more gloves per box, saving your practice money and storage space.  Available by the box, but for the best value order a case.

Glove Materials and Uses:

This is intended for general information only.  Please go by industry standards that are appropriate for the work or procedure you are performing.  Keep in mind that within each material type there are gloves for specific applications.  For example, there are Exam, Surgical, and Industrial gloves all made from nitrile.  Please reference the MSDS for the recommended glove type to use if you are working with dangerous substances or chemicals.

Latex

Latex gloves are widely used by medical, dental, and veterinary professionals, as well as tattoo artists, cosmetologists, and laboratory technicians.  They are also widely used in automotive, housekeeping, janitorial, sanitation, restaurant, food handling, and manufacturing applications.  Latex gloves offer protection from bloodborne pathogens and other environmental contaminants.  They are ideal for dealing with biological and water-based materials.  They do not have the resistance to petroleum products, solvents, and de-greasers that nitrile gloves do.
Latex gloves are made from Natural Rubber Latex from a the sap of rubber trees.  The main advantage of latex is reliable barrier protection, consistent fit and flexibility.  They are durable, comfortable, and have high tactile sensitivity.   They are more puncture resistant than vinyl but not as resistant as nitrile gloves.  It is also difficult to detect detect lacerations or puncture holes in latex.  The main disadvantage of Latex gloves is that Latex contains natural proteins that can cause allergic reactions in a small percentage of the population.

Nitrile

Nitrile gloves are among the most popular choices for medical, dental, and veterinary professionals, as well as tattoo artists, cosmetologists, and laboratory technicians.  They are also widely used in automotive, housekeeping, janitorial, sanitation, restaurant, food handling, manufacturing, furniture refinishing, gardening, and product inspection applications.  Nitrile gloves offer an impermeable barrier to dangerous viruses and other pathogens.  They also provide protection when working with chemotherapy drugs.  Nitrile gloves are resistant to petroleum products, solvents, de-greasers, fats, and many strong cleaners and chemicals.
Nitrile gloves are made of Synthetic Nitrile Rubber (NBR), which is stronger than latex.  They are thin, soft, and comfortable to wear while still being 3 times more puncture resistant than latex gloves.  Since nitrile gloves contain no natural proteins, they are less likely to cause the allergic reactions that latex does for a small percentage of the population.

Vinyl

Like Nitrile and Latex, Vinyl gloves are widely used by medical, dental, and veterinary professionals, as well as tattoo artists, cosmetologists, and laboratory technicians. They are used in automotive, housekeeping, janitorial, sanitation, restaurant, food handling, and manufacturing applications as well.  They are a popular choice for the food industry.
Vinyl is composed of Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) and plasticizers that soften the material.  It is an economical option often chosen when the worker changes gloves frequently during the course of a shift. Vinyl gloves are good multi-purpose gloves for general use and activities that don’t require a high degree of tactile sensitivity.

Chloroprene

Chloroprene gloves are used by medical, dental, and veterinary professionals, as well as tattoo artists, cosmetologists, and laboratory technicians.  They can also widely used in automotive, housekeeping, janitorial, sanitation, restaurant, food handling, manufacturing, furniture refinishing, gardening, and product inspection applications.  Chloroprene gloves offer an  barrier to toxic chemicals, abrasive and corrosive substances, as well as kind of infectious and harmful materials.
Chloroprene, also known as Neoprene (Polychloroprene), combines the more desirability qualities of nitrile and latex.  They are very comfortable to wear like latex, while still being puncture resistant like nitrile.  Like nitrile gloves, they contain no natural proteins, they do not cause the allergic reactions sometimes associated with latex.
